Habitat
Abundant in open forests, farmland, groves, parks, gardens and various herbaceous areas with the presence of trees or thickets. The favourite food of this species is thistle seeds.
Description
It has a tricolour head with a red facial mask and the rest black and white. Black wings with a large yellow stripe, white rump and black tail with small white spots are other characteristics that make this bird unmistakable. The upper parts are brownish and the ventral parts are somewhat more whitish. Its pale and pointed beak stands out.
