Habitat

They are found in open or semi-open terrain, cultivated areas, and fields with grasses, bushes, trees or scattered copses. It nests colonially in holes excavated in slopes.

Description

The most colourful bird that visits us in summer, unmistakable! It has multitude of colours in its plumage, a blue breast, a brownish back, a yellow throat and a black stripe that decorates its red eye. Typical insectivore’s beak, long, thin and somewhat curved. Often seen perched on wires or circling, often in small groups.
