Description

Elegant medium-sized turtledove, it has shades of grey and long tail. Unmistakable black collar with white margins, short reddish legs and black bill. The main difference with its relative the European turtledove lies in the plumage. While the European turtledove has a coloured scale, the Eurasian turtledove has a paler smooth plumage. Both sexes are similar.
