Habitat

During migration it is possible to observe it in various areas of the Ebro Valley, few individuals spend the winter in our territory. It breeds on open shores generally with sand or gravel, it spends the winter on inland shores and estuaries, and it is at this time that it is usually associated with other waders forming large mixed flocks.

Description

Small-sized but compact-looking wader, brownish on its upper parts and white below. Orange legs and base of bill, white patch behind eye, black face mask and collar, and distinct white wing band when in flight. It differs from the Little Plover by the absence of the yellow orbital ring and its larger size.
