Tringa totanus

Habitat

It breeds in marshes, salt marshes and inland wetlands. Common in various valleys of the Ebro during the migratory passage. Isolated specimens can be observed, also specimens in groups or included in mixed flocks together with other waders. It feeds in muddy areas with little water. Loud, but also cautious.

Description

Medium-sized wader with red legs and red base of bill. Brownish above with dark mottling on breast and flanks, and whitish eye-ring. In flight, the wedge-shaped white rump stands out, the back of the wing is also white, and the fingers sticks out a little from the figure of the bird.
