It breeds in areas of dense vegetation, preferably near water, whether they are lagoons and ponds or fluvial courses such as rivers and streams. It can sometimes be found in densely wooded humanized areas. Usually it stays well hidden in vegetation and is often heard but rarely seen.

Description

Medium-sized bird with a plump appearance, wide tail and rounded wings. It has a reddish-brown plumage above, with the sides of the head and breasts tinged with grey and more discoloured ventral areas. He has pale eyebrow as well as eye ring. Fairly active species, often flapping its wings and raising its tail. Its sonorous and explosive song is heard from the dense thicket where it remains hidden most of the time, although sometimes it jumps on the ground or in low bushes and that is where it can be observed.
